13 MPs who signed CSA remain in opposition, free to criticise govt
The agreement did not mean that the MPs involved were required to support every proposal put forward by the government.

KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 13 Members of Parliament (MPs) who signed the Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) with the Madani Government on Thursday will remain as opposition MPs and are free to criticise the government and carry out their role in holding the administration accountable.
Senior political adviser to the prime minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said the agreement did not mean that the MPs involved were required to support every proposal put forward by the government.
Instead, he said the understanding would allow the government to provide equivalent allocations to the constituencies represented by the MPs for development purposes and the delivery of services to local residents.
He said the allocations would be subject to financial regulations and parliamentary approval.
He said this in a video uploaded to Facebook to explain the purpose of the agreement and the understanding reached through its signing.
Earlier, the Madani Government signed the CSA with six MPs from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and six Independent MPs.
Under the agreement, all 13 MPs agreed to support the Madani Government's administration until the end of the current parliamentary term, including in key votes related to the 2027 Budget.
However, he said the agreement would not prevent them from expressing differing views or criticising government policies.
"They remain opposition MPs, they can still criticise the government and continue to provide checks and balances.
"They are not required to support everything. So, just because we belong to different political parties, it does not mean we have to fight over everything.
"We can have different political views, but when it comes to the people's interests, we must be able to work together," he said.
