Rafizi to be questioned by police today over corporate mafia claims
Rafizi claimed the PKR and Pakatan Harapan (PH)-led government was using Section 500 and Section 505 of the Penal Code to intimidate him each time he spoke out about the corporate mafia and the allegations against Ramanan.

SHAH ALAM - Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) leader Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has confirmed he has received a notice from the police headquarters in Bukit Aman, requiring him to appear for questioning over allegations of a corporate mafia and an RM9.5 million payment linked to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president R Ramanan.
Rafizi claimed the PKR and Pakatan Harapan (PH)-led government was using Section 500 and Section 505 of the Penal Code to intimidate him each time he spoke out about the corporate mafia and the allegations against Ramanan.
He said Ramanan should take the same action if he truly wanted to clear his name of accusations that he took a RM9.5 million bribe to settle the corporate mafia case.
"I have received a notice from the police to appear for questioning under Section 500 and Section 505 of the Penal Code on Tuesday at 10am.
"Section 500 concerns criminal defamation, while Section 505 concerns statements that incite public disorder and threaten public order.
"An investigation was opened following a police report dated Oct 22, 2026, numbered PANTAI/014638/26," he said in a statement on Monday.
The report was lodged after Rafizi's talk in Selayang on Oct 20, 2026.
In the talk, besides commenting on the corporate mafia and the allegation that Ramanan received a RM9.5 million bribe to settle the corporate mafia case, Rafizi also touched on the court appearance of former Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain.
Rafizi added that he would return to Kuala Lumpur and cancel a campaign event in Melaka on Tuesday to give his statement.
He said what he was going through was no different from the investigations and court cases he faced when exposing the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), Tabung Haji, Felda and National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) issues.
"I was also investigated under Section 500 and Section 505 in the 1MDB and Tabung Haji cases. I was even investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code for allegedly insulting Umno some time ago.
"The court acquitted me in all those cases. The 1MDB, Tabung Haji and Felda scandals were proven true and have become political capital that has helped PKR and PH for the past decade.
"I believe time will show that we in Bersama carried out our responsibility to help the public fight the corporate mafia while other parties stayed silent, even though we had to face legal pressure like this," he said.
