A little help goes a long way as Shah Alam residents share flood alerts

SHAH ALAM – As flash floods hit several areas in Shah Alam following heavy rain, members of the public have taken to Threads to share timely road updates and help fellow motorists avoid flooded routes.

From highlighting waterlogged roads to warning others about rising water levels, these social media users have turned their platforms into an informal community alert network to help keep road users safe.

One Threads user, identified as @rxmieee90, shared photographs of the flooding in Section 13, Shah Alam, showing motorcycles and vehicles partially submerged in floodwaters. The post also urged motorists to remain cautious and avoid waterlogged roads.

The updates shared on Threads allow motorists to receive information from people who may already be at or near affected locations, helping them make better travel decisions and avoid getting caught in floodwaters.

Beyond sharing flood alerts, some users have also offered vehicle repair services to motorists whose cars may have been damaged by the floods.

While some posts highlight affected areas, others remind fellow road users to exercise caution and seek alternative routes rather than risk driving through floodwaters.

Although these online alerts can be helpful, motorists are still advised to check official updates and follow instructions from the authorities.

Road users travelling around Shah Alam are urged to remain cautious, particularly near flood-prone areas, and avoid waterlogged roads until conditions improve.
