SHAH ALAM – Plus Malaysia Berhad (Plus) is encouraging motorists to use its JustGO toll payment system as daily traffic across its highway network is expected to reach 2.24 million vehicles during the Deepavali peak travel period and school holidays from Nov 7 to 10.

The figure is 17 per cent higher than the usual daily average of 1.92 million vehicles, with traffic expected to increase from Nov 5 as travellers head to their hometowns and holiday destinations.

On the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2), daily traffic is expected to rise by 68 per cent to 42,000 vehicles, compared with the usual 25,000.

In a statement, Plus said traffic heading towards the Klang Valley was expected to increase on Nov 9 and 10 as travellers return from their holidays.

JustGO, Malaysia's first toll payment system powered by Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, allows registered users to pass through any lane at enabled toll plazas, with toll payments processed automatically using their registered vehicle number plates and linked payment methods.

The system is available at all Plus toll plazas except those along LPT2 and the Sultan Iskandar Building toll plaza at the Johor Bahru Causeway.

Before travelling, users must download the JustGO app and complete their identity verification, vehicle registration and payment setup. The service is ready for use once their vehicle status is marked as 'Active'.

To manage the expected increase in traffic, Plus will activate Smart Lane at 32 selected locations, allowing emergency lanes to temporarily serve as additional traffic lanes when activated.

Motorists are reminded to use Smart Lane only when it is activated and to follow speed limits, road signs and instructions from highway personnel.

Plus also advised motorists to plan their journeys using the MyPlus Travel Time Advisory (MyPlus-TTA), available through the Plus app, which provides recommended travel times for journeys to and from the Klang Valley from Nov 5 to 10.

Motorists should also check their vehicles before travelling, get sufficient rest and plan their stops in advance.

During heavy rain, they should slow down, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and stop at a suitable rest area or lay-by if visibility becomes poor.

For traffic updates, motorists can check the Plus app, follow @plustrafik on X or contact PlusLine at 1-800-88-0000.

Plus wished Malaysians celebrating Deepavali safe journeys to their hometowns and holiday destinations.
