Nizar Najib's mother, Tengku Puteri Zainah, dies at 70
Her eldest son, Nizar, announced her passing in a Facebook post, paying tribute to her love, sacrifices and prayers
SHAH ALAM – Tengku Puteri Zainah Tengku Eskandar, the mother of Pahang state executive council member and Peramu Jaya assemblyman Datuk Mohamad Nizar Mohamad Najib, has died at the age of 70.
Nizar, the eldest son of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, shared the sad news in a Facebook post on Thursday.
In the post, he expressed his grief and paid tribute to his mother's love, sacrifices and prayers throughout her life.
“Thank you, mother, for all your love, sacrifices and prayers throughout your life. Nothing could ever repay all that you have done for us.
“May Allah SWT forgive all your sins, shower His mercy upon you and place you among the inhabitants of Jannatul Firdaus.
“You will forever live on in your children's prayers and memories,” he said.
The post was accompanied by a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah.
Tengku Puteri Zainah was Najib's former wife and was survived by three children – Nizar, Putri Norlisa and Mohd Nazifuddin.
Earlier, Sinar Harian reported that she was in critical condition and receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU).
