The court set bail at RM10,000 for both charges, ordering the student to report to the police monthly, with the case scheduled for mention on April 8.

Within hours, police launched investigations under several laws, ministers directed enforcement measures and the university initiated its own disciplinary proceedings.

The suspect is also being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities or services to transmit communications that are offensive, abusive, threatening, or harassing to others, including obscene content.
