The parents of the six-year-old boy who was slashed by a knife at his home in Parit Raja yesterday have been arrested today to assist in investigations.

Batu Pahat district police chief ACP Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the boy was still at the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital for further treatment.

According to Shazeli, the police have so far recorded statements from 57 individuals, including teachers, students, family members of both the victim and suspect, as well as school counsellors. - Bernama photo

The case is being investigated under Section 307 and Section 279 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
