Speculation that Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin may be expelled by the Disciplinary Board of Bersatu is not merely an internal party issue.

With PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin stepping aside, the spotlight now shifts to who will take the helm of PN, with analysts debating whether the coalition is heading towards a Pas-led future or a leadership reset centred on opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.

Two of six Bersatu MPs who declared support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim have denied claims that deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin influenced their decision.

A voice, believed to be that of a Bersatu leader, was heard speaking to a group of people and claiming that Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang had made the offer during a meeting that included top leaders from both parties, as well as Hamzah.

Behind the allegations of orchestrating SDs to topple Muhyiddin, Hamzah (left) is said to be a victim of certain parties’ political plotting.
