Yesterday the nation saw MPs returning to Parliament for a special sitting to table and debate the Constitution (Amendments) (No 3) Bill 2022. It was to add an enabling clause under Article 10 of the constitution to stop MPs from switching parties.

De facto Law Minister Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar tabled the much awaited constitutional amendment bill to introduce a clause to stop MPs from switching parties during a special sitting of the Dewan Rakyat.

Amendment of Article 48 (6) of the Federal Constitution will probably be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat in tandem with the anti-hoping law, says Law Minister Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
