SHAH ALAM - The government will table the anti-hoping law in the Dewan Rakyat sitting to be held this July.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, however, said this depends on the parliamentary select committee that will be formed to examine this Act.

According to him, the parliamentary special select committee will comprise of government representatives, opposition lawmakers and constitutional experts.

"This depends on the special select committee and how fast they present the Act to be tabled to the Cabinet for approval,'' he said.

After gaining the Cabinet's approval, the anti-hopping law can then be presented to the Dewan Rakyat immediately, said Ismail Sabri.

"The government have no intention to delay or not table the anti-hopping law.

"This is because there are parties who are confused and playing up the narrative that the government is not serious in tabling the Act,'' he said.
