Capri by Fraser in Bukit Bintang, a modern tech-savvy hotel in the heart of Kuala Lumpur

Capri by Fraser in Bukit Bintang is a new, modern hotel perfect for a staycation.

Kuala Lumpur is a beautiful city with glittering skyscrapers, one of it being the Capri by Fraser in Bukit Bintang.

Due to the scarcity of land available in the city, Capri by Fraser makes the most out of its built-up area from the ground up, all the way to the 43rd floor.

One of the things that greeted me first was its elevated car park and I was fairly impressed by this as I’ve never encountered an elevated parking in other hotels across the city.

Once I pressed the button for my ticket, I was assigned to a "tower”, which is basically where the car will be parked. I head to the "tower” where the shutters opened for me to drive in.

Inside, cars are neatly stacked on top of each other, lifted by its automated lift. Might I say it’s a pretty convenient feature to have, especially when you don’t have to walk too far from the lobby.

Speaking of its lobby, once you arrive at its entrance, you’ll be greeted by towering automatic wooden sliding doors. Typically, among other hotels, crystal clear glass doors are what welcomes you – allowing you to have a peek inside its lobby.

But once the wooden doors closes, it completely shuts down the hustle and bustle of the city outside, and I love that separation.

The quaint lobby area

Because the built-up area is quite small, don’t expect an expansive lobby area. Check-ins are done at the 40th floor, and I was told this was intentionally done so that guests can enjoy a nice skyline view while waiting for staff to arrange the check-ins.

I stayed at the One Bedroom Premier suite, where it comes complete with a kitchenette equipped with a full-sized fridge, microwave, stove and utensils.

The One Bedroom Premier comes with its own kitchenette

The living area is rather spacious, providing plenty of room for my two young sons to run around. There is also a round coffee table big enough to do work or eat as you watch the television in the background.

Or, you can do work and charge your devices over at the built-in study desk which comes with its own set of plug points.

Inside the room there is another television (thank goodness), so us parents need not worry about having to watch Encanto on repeat. The spacious bathroom also comes with a rainfall shower and a big bathtub for you to wind down after a long day.

One of the perks of staying in Capri’s Premier room is that guests have access to the Pow Wow area where you can lounge around, catch up with work and enjoy a scrumptious Hi-Tea menu.

The massive floor-to-ceiling windows gives you a breathtaking view of KL’s skyline but it’s not very kid-friendly. I imagine the space to be filled with adults utilizing the space for work or meeting with friends over Hi-Tea.

MODERN AMENITIES

The saltwater infinity pool gives you a picturesque view of the city as you take a dip. The kids pool is a little small, but my kids enjoyed themselves nonetheless.

On the same floor as the swimming pool comes the Spin N Play area where guests can play foosball or chill on the beanbags in the TV room. Need to do laundry? There is also a self-service laundry area but you would need to purchase tokens to operate the washing machine and dryer.

Upstairs at the Spin N Play area is where the gym is located. There are treadmills, stationary bicycles and many other gym equipment for gym junkies.

Hotel breakfast is what I look forward to the most when I go on vacations, and the breakfast spread at Capri didn’t disappoint.

While most hotels offer a large breakfast spread, Capri keeps things simple with a spread that allows you to fully enjoy its menu selection.

TECH SAVVY FEATURES

This hotel is truly built for modern city folks, with its tech savvy features here and there. Besides the elevated parking, the rooms come with an e-concierge. Scan the QR code on the television and you can chat with a bot if you have any queries.

At The Den where the dining area is, there is a jukebox where guests can connect their Spotify to play music.

Overall, it was an enjoyable stay at the Capri by Fraser in Bukit Bintang. Due to its strategic location, my family and I got to explore the city centre by foot as it’s located within walking distance to various attractions like Lot 10, Pavilion, Jalan Alor and more.
