TAPAH – Walking alone and weak on a bridge.
That was the condition of Jaslinda Saludin, 49, when she was found by an Orang Asli villager near a river in Kampung Lubuk Gaharu, near Pos Musoh, on Saturday.
Bah Roslan Bah Sulpok, 51, said the discovery, at around 5.10pm, happened while he was fishing.
He said he caught sight of a hijab-clad woman crossing the bridge in a frail state.
“I recognised her as Jaslinda because her photo had been shared on phones. I immediately shouted and asked her to stay put.
“When I approached her, she broke down crying and said, ‘help me’,” he told Sinar when met at Kampung Lubuk Baharu.
Concerned by her condition, Bah Roslan brought Jaslinda to the tok batin’s residence, about one kilometre away, to notify the authorities of the find.
“The moment she arrived at the tok batin’s house, she said she was hungry,” he said.
At the tok batin’s home, Jaslinda was served instant noodles, rice with fried chicken, tengas fish and boiled tapioca.
“My fellow villagers and I told her not to worry. She is safe here. We will help her,” he said.
Jaslinda had gone missing since May 23 after leaving a note on the sand at the summit of Gunung Batu Putih.
Search and rescue (SAR) teams had been combing the area for days, with operations extended to neighbouring Gunung Rayu after initial searches proved inconclusive.
