Alleging inaction over controversy, PH also calls for MACC's Tan Sri Borhan Dolah to be suspended

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim along with other PH leaders have called for CCPP chairman Borhan Dolah, along with Abu Zahar Ujang and Azam Baki to be suspended pending a thorough investigation.

In a joint statement today, opposition leaders have called for MACC's Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel (CCPP) chairman Tan Sri Borhan Dolah to go on immediate leave due to the latter's alleged inaction against Azam.
PH has also reiterated their stance for both MACC's Anti-Corruption Advisory Board (ACAB) chairman Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang and Azam to go on leave pending a thorough investigation against the matter.
In this regard, opposition leaders also stressed the need for an independent body, with no ties to the MACC, to conduct a complete investigation on the matter.
"At the same time, the MACC's Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel chairman Tan Sri Borhan Doola must also go on leave until the same investigation is complete as he is unwilling to act to investigate Azam Baki even though Azam has allegedly has breached the law by allowing his shares trade account to be used by his brother via proxy with millions of shares and warrant.
"There needs to be a new clean leadership, professional and independent to head MACC's ACAB and CCPP so that the competency, integrity and credibility of the MACC can be restored,'' said the statement.
Oppostion leaders also reiterated the call for a special parliament session to discuss the matter, either before or after the special parliament sitting on January 20 to discuss flood-related matters.
The statement was undersigned by PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, and Upko president Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau.
