SHAH ALAM – With the Johor state polls set to begin next week, Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is still hopeful to reach an agreement with PKR.

In an interview with Sinar Ahad, Syed Saddiq dismiss the assertion that his party is “demanding” winnable seats or “Grade A” seats from PKR, despite rumours Muda being offered the Senggarang, Sri Medan dan Tanjung Surat state seats to contest.

“Whether it is Grade A, B, C, and D is all determined by the people Johor, its voters. What is important is the new candidates that we can offer.

“I believed when we enter the negotiating table, it is important for us to respect our friends.

“That is why Muda to this day have not revealed the result of the negotiations until it is complete as we respect the complexity of these negotiations,’’ he said, adding that if negotiations are complete, then Muda will issue a statement on the matter.

When asked whether is biting more than it can chew, Syed Saddiq said the party will prove itself during the state elections through its candidates, their commitment to serve Johor voters and the new politics they aim to bring.

Johor PKR chief Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh has recently asked Muda to move on and to stop with "its threats and intimidation”.

Syed Ibrahim stated that the party has put all seat negotiations behind and now wanted to focus on efforts on all 20 seats that they are contesting.
