Naelofar reveals first Disney collaboration
Disney has been a major inspiration for modest wear in the local fashion scene.
Naelofar, the hijab brand founded by celebrity Noor Neelofa has tied up with Disney for the first time to produce a collection inspired by The Little Mermaid.
With the theme “The journey is yours to make” the collection invites wearers for an adventure under the sea, diving into the depths of a curated Ariel-inspired selection of products filled with magic and wonder to empower modest wear.
“We are thrilled that Disney has teamed up with us on this collection – we love Disney’s timeless characters like Ariel, whose spirit and resilience carry her though her journey of self-discovery. Ariel is a fierce and curious young woman who is ready to stand up for what she wants, and these stories continue to resonate with people of all generations,” said Neelofa in a press statement.
At the forefront of the collection is an array of hijabs crafted from the finest silky satin. Available in six mesmerizing colours, Naelofar brings to life elements like Ariel’s iconic mermaid tail, tiara and corals through a clever repetitive pattern.
The collection then extends to a range of intricately designed kaftans with similar design elements available in three colours. Both kaftans and scarves are given a special twist, with an exclusive Disney x Naelofar starfish metal charm seal added as a finishing touch.
Further down the line is The Little Mermaid Clear Tote Bag made from PVC and vegan leather trims. The see-through, open concept of the bag represents the clear waters in Ariel’s life as seen under the sea.
Fans can view the collection up close via an experiential event held by Naelofar at One Utama Shopping centre until Feb 27.
At the event, fans can explore new worlds, diving into an experiential tunnel with a video projection that mimics an under-the-sea ambience.
They can also enjoy a complimentary scoop of ice-cream or a cup of coffee by Inside Scoop and Zus Coffee when they shop the collection.
In addition to that, Naelofar’s Get Personal, a service to personalise bags is also made available at the event.
The Little Mermaid Shawl and Square retails at RM119 each, while the kaftans will set you back at RM199 each. The tote bag retails at RM149 each.
The Little Mermaid collection will also be available at all Naelofar authorized outlets.
