Six candidates gear up for Larkin state seat

JOHOR BAHRU - The N44 Larkin state assembly seat is expected to see a six-cornered fight in the Johor State Election.

A quick survey by the Sinar Harian team at the Larkin nomination centre at Johor Bahru Public Works Department office saw six candidates present.

The candidates from Barisan Nasional (BN), Perikatan Nasional (PN), Pakatan Harapan (PH), Parti Ikatan Demokratik Malaysia (Muda), Parti Perjuang Malaysia (Pejuang) and an independent candidate.

Muda candidate Rashid Abu Bakar, 28, was the to arrive at 8.22am followed by PKR’s Dr Zamil Najwah Arbain, 44, and BN candidate Hairi Md Shah, 38, at 8.30 am.

PN candidate Zulkifli Bujang, 44, then arrived at 8.40 am, followed by independent candidate Norramadan Buan, 46, at 8.40 am. Pejuang candidate, Mohamad Riadz Mohamad was the last to arrive at 8.55 am.

The nomination period will last for one hour, from 9am to 10am, before the cooling-off period is done for another hour to enable the Election Commission to review the candidates.
