Penang State Election: PRM identifies three potential candidates

GEORGE TOWN - Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) has so far identified three potential candidates to contest in the upcoming Penang state election.
PRM deputy president Datuk Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor said that the candidates identified are Penang PRM chief Teh Yee Cheu (Air Putih), Lee Chui Wah (Tanjung Bungah) and Abdul Ghani Haroon (Pantai Jerejak).
"PRM will be contesting in about 10 to 15 seats...so we are finalising candidates with quality. We remain focused on these three seats," he told reporters here today.
He added that other state seats that PRM plans to contest are Pulau Tikus, Kebun Bunga, Seri Delima, Sungai Pinang, Air Itam, Teluk Bahang, Bayan Lepas and Batu Maung as well as several seats on the mainland.
Moreover, he said that he hoped that PRM will win at least one seat in the upcoming state election.
Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow had announced that the State Legislative Assembly will be dissolved on June 28, to pave the way for a state election.
Penang has 40 state seats and in the 14th general election (GE14), Pakatan Harapan won 37, including two by Bersatu candidates, while BN won two, and Pas managed one. - Bernama
