JOHOR BAHRU - The BN coalition has pledged to table an anti-hopping bill as part of its efforts to reform politics in the state, if it won in the Johor election, says caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.

“As part of our pledge to reform politics in the state, we will introduce an anti-party-hopping bill as our first agenda of the day as soon as we won. This is the pledge that will promise to execute if given the mandate,’’ he said during a press conference after launching the BN manifesto here today.

Similarly, Hasni stated that BN also wishes to address voter malapportionment by redrawing electoral borders or redelination to ensure fair representation.

However, Hasni mentioned that this process would be much easier if BN were given an ⅔ majority vote in the election.

“We are aware of the issue where hundreds of thousands of voters are represented by only one assemblyman. To ensure effective service to the people, if given ⅔ majority, we will propose for a redelineation process to be done,’’ he said.
