JOHOR BAHRU - The five pledges made by the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition through its ‘Ikhtiar BN Johor’ manifesto is doable, assures BN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, further stating they are not just empty promises to win the hearts of the people.

The five pledges launch earlier today include economic growth, people’s wellbeing, youth development, good governance and political reforms.

"It is a doable effort, not just promises to win the people’s hearts, to woo them but in the end, we fail, so this (the manifesto) is our efforts to re-build Johor which has fallen far behind,” he said during a press conference after the launch of BN manifesto for Johor here, today.

He said Johor was once the country’s economic growth engine but was affected by political uncertainties since 2018.

Mohamad, the Johor state election director added their manifesto will help the new state government to stabilise the political situation.

Asked to comment about the election campaigns, now at its fourth day, Mohamad said the BN machinery has done a good job organising and ensuring it remains focused, further urging them to continue the hard work polling day on March 12.

"I went to the ground on the 4th day of campaigning, I am satisfied...there are no issues that are of concern or that could disrupt the course of our campaign at the moment," he said.
