319 SPM candidates in Terengganu transferred to other exam centres

KUALA TERENGGANU - A total of 319 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates in four flood-affected schools in Hulu Terengganu and Kemaman were moved to other centres so that they could sit for their examinations.
State executive council (Exco) for Syariah implementation, education and higher education Satiful Bahri Mamat said 131 candidates were from Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) Mahmudiah, Sekolah Menengah Imtiaz (63), Madrasah Moden (41) in Hulu Terengganu and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Air Putih (84) in Kemaman.
“The candidates were transferred to SMA (Atas) Sultan Zainal Abidin, SM Imtiaz, SMA Khairiah in Kuala Terengganu and SMK Cheneh Bharu in Kemaman.
“All of them were students staying at the hostels at the schools located in areas affected by the floods in the two districts,” he told Sinar Harian on Tuesday.
In the meantime, he said students who were seriously affected by the floods were given exemptions to wear regular clothes to sit for the examinations.
“Students who lost their school uniforms due to floods, or important documents such as the identity card will be given exemption.
"There are also schools that provide uniforms for the students to change when they arrive at the school to sit for their exams," he said.
Based on the record, a total of 18,815 SPM candidates in Terengganu will sit for the examinations on Wednesday.
