SHAH ALAM - Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin said the MySejahtera check-in is no longer required to enter school premises starting May 1.

However, he said wearing of face masks indoors is still compulsory in line with the Health Ministry's announcement on the relaxation of the standard operating procedures (SOP), on Wednesday.

"Face masks must be worn in enclosed areas inside the school such as the classroom and the library.

"However, there are several exceptions including when you are alone in the area and during physical education and recreation," he said when announcing the new regulations for school operations, today.

He said teachers could also take off their face masks whenever they are teaching in the classroom.

Children aged five and below, as well as individuals with special needs or have breathing difficulties are also exempted from wearing face masks in schools or educational institutions, Radzi added.

However, he said the school community is encouraged to wear face masks during group activities.
