SHAH ALAM – UMNO’s working committee council member Datuk Jalaluddin Alias deems the meeting between UMNO veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah with several members of Kelantan oppositions is standard, with no specific agenda.

Hence, Jalaluddin said any disciplinary action against Tengku Razaleigh or Ku Li was not reasonable.

“We do not know the issues being discussed. Anyone could be meeting anybody in conjunction with Ramadan, Aidilfitri or the likes.

“It is normal for perception to arise especially with the upcoming general election.

“I think it is not reasonable to make any comments regarding the meeting,” he told Sinar Harian on Thursday.

On April 26, a meeting between Tengku Razaleigh and several leaders of Amanah Kelantan took place, alleged to have taken place to overthrow the Pas state government in the upcoming general election.

Jalaluddin said if the content of the discussion revolved around specific agenda to overthrow Barisan Nasional, then the party would not stay silent.

“It can only happen if the action is proven. If it is only based on perception and allegations, it is not a base for us to take action since it is just a regular meet up.

“All these were talks and have not been proven.

“UMNO will usually take action if there is clear evidence, and actions and decision will be made based on the party’s constitution,” he said.
