SHAH ALAM - PKR vice president candidate Rafizi Ramli has urged politicians to hold more debates as a way to promote a healthy exchange of ideas among leaders.

He said this after a 90-minute programme, Berani Semuka: Who deserves to be with Anwar organised by Sinar Harian took place in Karangkraf, Shah Alam

The ex-pandan MP said the debate was a success and that it should be extended to other parties as well. “Certainly, this debate is an achievement to the party since we are the only party that practices democratic process, ‘one man, one vote’, he said referring to every PKR member would have a say over who wins.

Rafizi who recently announced his return to politics after an almost three years hiatus said: “It will take some time to get used to it but the momentum is there. I am pacing it and getting there slowly."

Rafizi faces Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail for the deputy president's post when the party holds its elections from May 13 to 18.

On today's debate, he said he is pleased with the outcome of the debate as “I was a debater so yes, I am happy that I managed to say everything within the time period given. This is because the biggest challenge during a debate is not having enough time to say what is needed."
