SHAH ALAM – Clearly emotional Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin serenades her supporter upon her arrival at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) here yesterday.

At the KLIA arrival hall, Zuraida was greeted by some 100 supporters who gathered to celebrate her return, where she was gifted a flower garland and purple bouquet in the color of Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) as well as banner hailing her as ‘Ibu Bangsa Malaysia’ (Mother of the Malaysian people).

As she spoke to her supporters, Zuraida said that while she was on the flight back to the country, she remembered a song that she always listened to when she was young.

“When I was on the flight just now, I remembered when I was younger (I always listened to) the song Que Sera Sera,” she said.

She continued serenading her supporters with the song, among the snippets of the lyrics being ‘Que sera, sera. Whatever will be, will be. The future's not ours to see. Que sera, sera. What will be, will be’.

Zuraida was in Turkey to attend the 7th Conference of Pioneers of Global Women's Coalition for Al-Quds and Palestine.

She recently made headlines after quitting Bersatu to join PBM, which automatically gave up her membership in the former party.

She had said that she would meet Prime Minister Ismail Sabri to discuss her resignation from her Cabinet post.

On the same day, Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that he would furnish a new name to replace Zuraida as a minister, citing her post was part of Bersatu’s quota.

However, Ismail said he would decide on Zuraida’s post, whether she would continue being the Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister or not once she met with her.
