SHAH ALAM – Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Setiawangsa division chief post candidate had again reiterated that he wants transparency in the recent party polls and the results.

Datuk Afdlin Shauki said he accepted his loss but he just wanted transparency, which was why he had lodged a police report to investigate the matter.

“I won the physical votes but lost at the online voting. Losing by 100 people in the area where there are more than 5,000 members may not be as big... but I accepted the loss, I just wanted transparency,” he posted on his Twitter today.

Afdlin was replying to another Twitter user Shafiq Amran who told him that if he was not satisfied with the application and the nomination process, then he should refer to the party’s Secretary-General and the President.

He added despite being a greenhorn in the political arena and the party, he believed that everyone has the right to voice out their concerns.

On Monday, Afdlin had lodged a police report against the party’s central election committee since no action was taken when he first directly reported his dissatisfaction to the committee.

He had also mentioned a need for the forensic audit to be carried out nationwide since the Setiawangsa branch is not the only division that was suspicious of the unofficial results announced by the election committee.

Many other divisions including Gombak and Puchong had also lodged reports to pressure the party’s election committee and leadership to act.
