SHAH ALAM – The Malaysian Taxi Coalition (MTC) urges the public to take a stance and dare to bring a change by supporting candidates who are free of all forms of corruption in the upcoming general election.

The measure is required, according to MTC President Kamarudin Mohd Hussain, as corruption had been a growing problem in the nation in recent years.

He voiced alarm over the signs of corruption, which have grown to be a major issue and have put Malaysia behind its Southeast Asian neighbours like Indonesia and Thailand.

Kamarudin was also dissatisfied with the conduct of a few corrupt political figures, which he believed should not have been chosen by the electorate.

"Consequently, it is now up to the populace to take action and effect change in the 15th General Election (GE15).

“The people can no longer be swayed by such leaders' alluring claims,” he told Sinar Harian.

In addition, Kamarudin emphasised that his coalition would cooperate with people who could guarantee the greatest bargains in the upcoming GE15, particularly when dealing with problems that arise in the taxi industry.

"We don't want to be a tool to those with vested interests.
