KUANTAN - Anih Berhad is expecting 1.648 million vehicles using the Kuala Lumpur - Karak highway and 704,000 at the LPT1 for this Aidiladha.

Its Senior General Manager Radzimah Mohd Radzi said the addition of around 2.4 million vehicles flocking the road was expected as people took the opportunity to go back to their hometown for korban and to reunite with families with the upcoming long weekend from July 8 to July 11.

She was confident that road users were now prepared with the necessary preparations to ensure a much more safe and comfortable trip for the upcoming celebration.

"Aidiladha is the third time Malaysians have a chance to go back to their hometown since the country entered the endemic phase this year.

"However, we are committed to ensure the comfort of all with the release of the proposed travel time as a reminder for every celebration," she said in a statement on Monday.

She said that based on the steady number of vehicles for weekends since earlier this year, the average weekend for Kuala Lumpur - Karak Highway saw around 161,000 vehicles while LPT1 recorded around 65,000 vehicles.

"Among steps taken by Anih Berhad to improve the readiness of this celebration, members and officers are added as preparation to activate other lanes if there is an increase in traffic.

"It will also aid in smoothening out the traffic and prioritises everyone's preparation in all facilities along the highway ensuring the cleanliness of all rest stops," she added.
