SHAH ALAM - PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the anti-hopping law has been what they want for the nation's future.

He said this after confirming that the law would be tabled in the Parliament session on Monday as the final draft had been accepted.

Saifuddin also said that he had recently communicated with Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar regarding the matter.

He explained the details regarding the content of the amendment would be discussed further but the focus had been given to the law.

“What we know is that what we want is (to) outlaw hopping. That’s it.

“The parliamentary committee finalised everything on the anti-hopping law and it has been presented by Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi in the form of a note to the cabinet last Wednesday,” he said when met during the PKR congress today.

It was reported that the draft of the Constitution (Amendment) (No. 3) Bill 2022 and on provisions prohibiting Members of Parliament (MPs) from party-hopping would be laid on the table of the MPs this Monday for their reference.

Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar had said the bill was proposed for debate on July 27 and 28, subject to the discretion of the Dewan Rakyat Speaker.
