SHAH ALAM - The Health Ministry (MoH) urges everyone to contribute to the effort to break the smoking culture in society and not aggravate the act.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the Health Ministry would not compromise with portrayals of behaviour such as smoking and vaping in public.

He said this after coming across a specific screenshot @ohbulanofficials TikTok video which showed a male singer who walked on the runaway while smoking at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2022.

"The Health Ministry views the issue relating to celebrities who publicly showed that they vape or smoke in public.

"This act shows a bad example to the surrounding community, especially to children and teenagers," he said in a post through his Twitter account today.

Noor Hisham calls on everyone on all levels of society celebrities to help them to combat the smoking culture in the society.

"We call everyone to help the ministry’s efforts to ensure that smoking culture is no longer accepted in the society," he said.
