TEMERLOH – Police arrested seven men following a viral video clip of a brawl that took place at Mentakab city here on Wednesday.

District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azhar Mohd Yusoff said those arrested aged between 19 and 35.

He said there were no police reports or complaints received regarding the incident at the time.

"Police made the first information report (FIR) to start an investigation under Section 147 of the Penal Code for riot in a public space and Section 160 for causing the riot.

"Following the viral video clip, the police arrested seven men as of now and the efforts to track the rest involved is underway," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Previously, a 10-second video recording believed to have taken place on Aug 31 from around 12.05am to 12.20am had circulated on WhatsApp.

"Those who witnessed the incident are asked to come forward to provide information for the investigative officer Assistant Superintendent Imawathy Mohamad Yuson at 012-2822874 or any nearby police stations," he explained.
