Bersatu supports Kedah MB's decision not to dissolve govt till end of term

ALOR SETAR - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Kedah supports the its Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s decision not to dissolve the State Legislative Assembly until the end of term.

Bersatu Kedah Information Chief Khairul Anuar Ramli said the party's stance was in line the state leadership as the mandate given by the people was for a period of five years.

He said this was also due to the country and state’s economic situation as it has yet to stabilise from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Khairul Anuar emphasised that at this point of time, the state government does not need to entertain power-hungry groups to the point of neglecting the interests of the people and country.

"I believe the people also agree that the state government led by Sanusi should continue the mandate of governing Kedah until the end of the term.

"This is the mandate given by the voters to the government to pay attention to uplift the people's economy," he said.

It was previously reported that Sanusi had confirmed several times that Kedah will not dissolve the state government until the end of the term, if the 15th General Election (GE15) was held in the near future.

On Sept 4, Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang announced that the three states governed by the party namely, Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah will not dissolve their respective state assemblies earlier than March 2023.
