SHAH ALAM – With the constant news of corrupt practises in the country, the public has had enough of corruption and this includes a local writer who now incorporate strong content and messages in their books to criticise Malay leaders and combat graft.

This could be seen through Tan Sri Emeritus Professor Dr Mohd Kamal Hassan in his recently launched book titled ‘Corruption and Hypocrisy in Malay-Muslim Politics’.

Karangkraf Media Group Chairman Datuk Dr Hussamuddin Yaacub said the changes could have been caused by the leakage of national revenue due to the practice of corruption becoming more and more common now, occurring everywhere and at various levels.

He also mentioned the national money being misappropriated in order to fulfill the greed and personal interests of politicians in the country and questioned until when should the people be complacent and drowned in the lies of these culprits.

He explained that this is how #Rasuah Busters was established as a small spark from the awareness of the people who want to save the country from being destroyed due to corrupt practices.

“#Rasuah Busters wants to stop all this. This chain of corruption must be severed today and now.

“The belief system must be the fort that defends our dignity. Leaders are called to serve God; not the status, position or mediums of those who do wrong.

“Every one of us is the captain of our ship and we hold the rudder to navigate its path.

“Choose leaders who are free of hypocrisy, one with dignity, principles and puts the rakyat first; not those who use the people to fulfill their personal fantasies,” he said during his opening speech at the launch of the book at Karangkraf Media Group Headquarters, today.

The event was launched by Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and was attended by national figures, media heads, civil society and organisations from across the country.

He added that Kamal’s approach of using harsher language and tone compared to his previous works is a timely reprimand given the current situation.

Hussamuddin said the rise of corruption in the country spurred him on the direct approach to the Malay leaders in the country.

“I have known him for a long time, but I think this is the first time he has written in a harsh language and tone like he did in this book.

“He is a gentle person, so his previous books used a lot of metaphors and were in a gentler tone.

“This time he used a direct approach, so maybe he feels that it has reached a stage where this approach must be used in order to open the minds of leaders and the Malay people,” he said.

He further said that Professor Kamal even mentioned in the preface of the book that he was motivated to write this book after seeing the #RasuahBusters campaigns.

He said this had become a booster for the campaigns to grow and Malaysians should work together with #Rasuah Busters to transform into a country free of corruption.

“I am calling out Malaysians to join forces with Rasuah Busters to curb corruption because this is our responsibility.

“Change starts from us, meaning we are the ones who have to move this change.

“If this initiative is welcomed, I think the transformation process can be done faster,” he added.
