SHAH ALAM - PKR MP Fahmi Fadzil has questioned if the government has failed to identify masterminds and mules behind online fraud scams worth millions.

He said the opposition is clueless over the number of masterminds and big sharks charged in court so far.

"In Parliament, we are told thousands of criminals have been brought to court but so far I don't see a will to catch them.

"The masterminds are still roaming freely out there," he said during a Wacana by Sinar Daily at Karangkraf Media Group headquarters, here.

Another panelist Cybersecurity Malaysia Senior Vice President for Strategic Research Division Sazali Sukardi said they face problems in probing as some of their counterparts may not have the technical capability to extract evidence.

"There are many cross borders and legal issues. We have to make sure not only that our counterparts are at the same level, but also highlight incidents.

"If cyber laws in a country are not strong, online attacks will continue," he said.
