JOHOR BAHRU - Visitors of a McDonald’s outlet at Jalan Pendekar, Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, here, panicked when the sign infront of the fast food restaurant caught fire, on Monday.

The incident went viral on social media when the fire was raging, burning down the structure of the sign.

Skudai Fire and Rescue station senior operations commander Superintendent Moha Kamal Shaari said a distress call was received at about 6.50pm.

He said a total of six personnel were dispatched to the scene along with a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT), Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT) and an Emergency Service Assistance Unit (EMRS).

"Upon arrival at the scene, it was found that the sign was 80 per cent burnt. There were no victims involved in the incident.

"The loss and the cause of the fire are still under investigation. The operation ended at 7.16pm," he said in a statement on Monday.
