SHAH ALAM - Umno reportedly suspends the membership of Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman on Friday.

The matter was confirmed by Umno Alor Setar Division Chief Datuk Mohd Yusof Ismail, who also received the same fate as Tajuddin.

Citing a local media report, Yusof said he did not know the reason for the action and the suspension period because he had not yet received the official letter and was only informed verbally on Friday night.

Sources said Tajuddin, who is also the Umno Pasir Salak Division Chief and Yusof had allegedly opposed the Umno’s leadership.

"Yes, I was informed by Umno supreme council members that they decided to suspend me and Tajuddin last night. I don't know how long.

"I don't know why they decided on this. I was very vocal in the group of division heads and I strongly supported Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

"Perhaps it is a signal to the Prime Minister that if he does not dissolve Parliament, his supporters among the division heads will bear the burden.

"I will not appeal because I have done nothing wrong. I consider myself as Umno then, now and forever," said Yusof.
