KUALA LUMPUR - The alleged dissolution of Parliament this Friday is only mere speculation unless it is announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob; if he recieves the approval from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Ramli Mohd Nor, stressed that the Dewan Rakyat proceedings, including the debate of legislative bills presented by government representatives today, will proceed as usual as long as no official statement over the dissolution of Parliament is made.

"The question of the dissolution of Parliament is still speculation as said by the Speaker (Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun). It is still speculation.

"We will continue the meeting as usual until 'the moment comes'. We don't know yet, so we will continue sitting until that happens," he said as he presided over the Dewan Rakyat today.

Ramli's clarification was in response to Teresa Kok's (PH-Seputeh) question on whether it will be futile for bills to be debated if Parliament was to be dissolved tomorrow.

"We have discussed several amendments and bills within this week, if Parliament dissolves tonight or tomorrow, will this debate be in vain? In the new government will all these bills be presented and discussed again," she asked.

The Parliament's dissolution became a hot issue after Umno Supreme Council, on last Friday, unilaterally called for such disbandment to be done soon in order to enable the commencement of the 15th General Election (GE15).
