SHAH ALAM - The real reason why Amanah and DAP are working together is that both parties agree on the same value of integrity, good governance and accountability.

Amanah communications director Khalid Samad said there was no need to consider whether DAP was Muslim or non-Muslim political party as both parties were governing according to the ways of Islam.

He told Sinar Daily's Politically Frank that Islam prioritised good governance with integrity, accountability and the need for transparency. Thus, there would be no issue since both Amanah and DAP have the same aim in governing.

He said these issues were brought up by their political enemies to create doubt and fear in the Muslim community.

He also hoped for Amanah to be a party that was not within the shadows of Pas.

He added Pas had long deviated from their initial aim when they left Umno due to principle disagreements regarding the issue of gambling introduced by MCA.

“Now, the Pas leadership is saying to forget about all these issues because what’s important is unity even though they were the ones who created the disunity by leaving Umno,” the former Shah Alam MP said.

He added Pas would not have left Umno if unity was the main factor.

“But are now putting emphasis on winning elections and they are willing to go to bed with the devil, Umno again,” he said.
