SHAH ALAM - PKR's Maszlee Malik has denied he had joined Pejuang after Sheraton Move in February 2020 as the party was established much later.

The Simpang Renggam MP incumbent said: “Did I join Pejuang? The party was not even established at that time.

“We were kicked out, the six of us from Bersatu and Syed Saddiq (Syed Abdul Rahman) established his own party (Muda) while the five of us were still discussing when Tun Mahathir and the rest of us proposed a new party,” he told Sinar Daily’s Politically Frank.

However, he said he stood his ground to stay by with PH since they won the election.

When asked about his dismissal by then prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the education minister in Jan 2020, he said: “Refer to one of my interviews that has now gone viral."

He said he had explained in length over the issue.

"I was asked by the then PM to give back the position to him since actually he always wanted to be the education minister from the beginning but people did not allow him,” he said.
