Look at the candidates, not the party, says Ahmad Idham

SHAH ALAM - Former actor, director and producer Ahmad Idham hopes for a government that is clean from corruption and legal suits as Malaysians go for polls on Nov 19.

"When our country is run by an unstable or corrupt government, we can see the impact to our economy as well as the creative industry," he told Sinar Daily's Politically Frank.

Addressing the upcoming general election, he noted that "our country is at stake" and that "choosing the right government to lead the country is of utmost importance."

Idham also shared a reminder for future voters, "Look at the candidates, not the party."

Just as of a year ago, the former National Film Development Corporation Malaysia was appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as their Cultural Secretary and Creative Advisor along with fellow actor Eizlan Yusof.

According to caretaker Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah, their appointment alongside aligned with the objective of developing Malaysia's Cultural Diplomacy under the Foreign Policy Framework, it is to establish new avenues to project national identity and values, besides showcasing the commitment to diversity and multiculturalism and to promote cultural outreach and exchanges.
