SHAH ALAM – Selangor Pakatan Harapan (PH) youth urges any parties involved who upload content with the elements of insults and religious sensitivity to be punished accordingly.

Selangor Amanah Youth Deputy Chief Abbas Azmi said the actions of releasing any statement whether written or in a video clearly show a narrow political understanding of some parties.

“We are aware of the spread of several videos through social media lately and we want this act to be stopped immediately.

“The act of uploading things that touched upon religious and racial sensitivities is completely unacceptable in our country,” he told Sinar after he lodged a report at the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD), here, on Saturday.

He said the actions of insulting certain races resulted from some campaigns by certain parties in the 15th General Election (GE15).

“The hate campaign was spread by some parties and directly affected the youth.

“They are seen trying to win votes by spreading hatred, insulting certain parties and causing the youth to be influenced as well as causing anger to be translated through social media,” he said.

He said he hoped the authorities would take immediate strict actions towards those who were seen to sow hatred between races and religions.
