Tioman State Legislative Assembly: We are not opponents forever, says BN candidate

KUANTAN - The unpredictable political dynamic could make opposing party blocs to become allies.
Barisan Nasional (BN) Tioman State Legislative Assembly candidate Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Hussain said this was the current political change happening in Pahang among BN and Pakatan Harapan (PH).
"In politics we can change. Friends are not always going to remain friends, enemies will not always be enemies.
"However, the important goal is for the stability, prosperity and the well-being of the people in Pahang and the Tioman state assembly in particular. Let's look at this cooperation from the most positive aspect," he said on Thursday.
Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) secretary-general Datuk Mohd Hatta Md Ramli on Tuesday said PH had decided to make way to the BN candidate (Johari) in the 15th General Election (GE15) Tioman State Legislative Assembly.
The decision was made after Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail agreed to work together to form the unity government when none of the parties had achieved a simple majority.
Pahang had 42 state seats and from the total, Perikatan Nasional (PN) had 17 seats, BN (16) and PH (eight).
The Election Commission (EC) announced that the GE15 Tioman State Legislative Assembly was postponed to Dec 7, following the death of PN candidate Md Yunus Ramli at 3.30am on the polling day on Nov 19.
PH candidate Mohd Fadzli Mohd Ramly will contest against Johari and three other candidates Nor Idayu Hashim (PN), Oman A Bakar (Pejuang) and Sulaiman Bakar (Independent).
Johari said the cooperation between BN and PH to establish a unity government can create harmony, prosperity, political continuity and a stable economy as well as racial unity at this time.
"This is one of the things that rarely happens in Pahang especially in the Tioman State Assembly, but this is what people meant by political diversity in Pahang and Malaysia in general," he said.
