Ismail Sabri to hold GLC post?

SHAH ALAM - Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is likely to be given a special role in one of the government-linked companies (GLC).

Sinar Daily understands that the position was offered in a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during a meeting at his office on Tuesday.

An announcement related to the appointment is also expected to be made soon.

In the meantime, a viral poster states Ismail Sabri may be appointed as Petronas Chairman.

However, one of the sources close to him denied that the former premier will be holidng that post.

"It is possible that he is also considering being given another GLC role," he told Sinar Harian.

Ismail Sabri was Malaysia's ninth prime minister in August 2021 till parliament was dissolved in Oct 10, this year.
