SHAH ALAM - From behind bar, former prime minister and ex Umno president, Datuk Seri Najib Razak implores party members to remain steadfast against all odds so that the Malay party can rise yet again in the future.

Najib's words of comfort to disheartened members were conveyed by party supreme council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi when they met at the court earlier today.

“We both discussed economic issues and current issues including the unity government Cabinet lineup. He reminded Umno members to persevere; that they do not need to worry and strive to rise again,” Mohd Puad wrote on Facebook.

He also stated that Najib, whom he referred to as ‘Bossku’, still closely follows the development of the world outside through newspapers.

“He got the newspaper a day later. Which means he gets stories that are two days old," he mentioned.

Najib was charged with 25 charges of money laundering and abuse of power in relation to RM2.28 billion of 1MDB cash transferred into his AmBank accounts between February 2011 and December 2014.
