PUTRAJAYA - Strict actions will be taken against organisers of illegal funfairs, warns Local Government and Development Minister Nga Kor Ming

"Strict actions can be taken against those who do not gain any permission or without a licence according to the law," he told a press conference at the Precinct 7 Fire and Rescue Headquarters, here, today.

He suggested for every local authority to be thorough due diligence before issuing a licence in accordance to the by-laws that were set in place.

"For the case in Puncak Alam we will hand it over to local authorities to make the police report and actions could be taken which is a fine of RM25,000 and a three-year prison sentence," he said.

Sinar on Monday reported three people were injured from the ride at the fun fair on Monday.

The Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) confirmed that the fun fair in Puncak Alam had operated without approval and licence from the local authorities.

Its director Rahilah Rahmat said the organisers had submitted applications for the entertainment activity license several times but their applications were found to be incomplete.
