Shahidan excited to return to Parliament on Dec 19
SHAH ALAM - Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim expresses his excitement to return to Parliament on Dec 19.
Shahidan shared several photos on his Facebook account on Wednesday while he was attending a briefing on the Parliamentary Rules and Etiquette to the Kedah and Perlis MPs.
"I attended a briefing on Parliamentary Rules and Etiquette for Kedah and Perlis MPs chaired by Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun.
"I can't wait to step back into the Parliament on Dec 19," he said in a Facebook post.
Shahidan, 71, is a well-known political figure in Perlis as he held the position as Arau MP for four terms in 1986,1990, 2013 and 2018 under the Barisan Nasional (BN) ticket.
Shahidan then contested under Perikatan Nasional (PN) (in the 15th General Election) after he was dropped from Umno as the Arau Parliament candidate.
However, Shahidan managed to defend his seat with a majority of 23,216 votes defeating other candidates who were Datuk Rozabil Abdul Rahman (BN) and Fathin Amelina Fazlie (Pakatan Harapan)
