SHAH ALAM - Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) openly states its intention to cooperate with Pakatan Harapan (PH) in facing the Selangor state election this year.

Its president Datuk Larry Sng said he had written a letter to the PH leadership and Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari to express their intention.

“PBM now has two state assembly seats in Sementa (Haniza Talha) and Lembah Jaya (Dr Daroyah Alwi).

“I hope the good relationship between PBM and the component party partners in the federal level could be extended to the state level. This can ensure stability moving forward,” he said in a Facebook post today.

PBM won a seat in the 15th General Election (GE15) through Larry in the Julau Parliament and represented a party that supported the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Even though Haniza and Daroyah had been fired from their position as deputy president 1 and PBM Wanita chief following an internal party crisis, both remained as regular party members.

The recent turmoil witnessed PBM sacking 13 individuals including former Ampang MP Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin and PBM Secretary-General Nor Hizwan Ahmad.

PBM leadership previously consisted of the group that left Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) after the ‘Sheraton Move’ in early 2020 that caused the PH government under the leadership of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to fall.
