JOHOR BAHRU - Pejuang party is yet to decide if it will be taking part in the upcoming six state elections this year after withdrawing from Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) coalition yesterday.

Its information deputy chief Mahdzir Ibrahim said Pejuang had various choices now.

Mahdzir, the Parit Sulong parliament coordinator said the party could join Pakatan Harapan (PH) or Perikatan Nasional (PN).

“But these choices are a bit weird," he said as they may not agree in sharing power.

But he said Pejuang may remain weak if they go solo, he said in a statement on Friday.

On Saturday, Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir announced the party’s withdrawal from GTA during the party's second grand meeting.

Mukhriz said the decision was made to ensure Pejuang had some time to strengthen the party before giving any added value to other parties in the coalition.

“Besides that, we also held a long discussion about which coalition we (Pejuang) want to join for the upcoming state elections,” Mukhriz said.

However, Mahdzir said they may not be taking part in any of the state elections.
