Malaysian-British television host turned actor Henry Golding has been crowned the ninth most handsome man in the world.

Recently, Irish entertainment magazine Joe reported that the Hollywood A-lister made it into a list of 10 male celebrities compiled by British plastic surgeon Dr Julian De Silva.

In a series of Instagram posts, the doctor explained that the data were assembled by "computerised mapping techniques".

According to him, the techniques allow people to solve some of the mysteries of what makes someone physically beautiful.

The 35-year-old from Betong Sarawak scored 87.98 per cent based on the Golden Ratio which measures physical perfection. Topping the list was actor Rege-Jean Page of Bridgerton with a score of 93.65 per cent.

Other notable celebrities included were Chris Hemsworth (93.53 per cent), Chris Evans (91.9 per cent), George Clooney (89.91 per cent) and Dwayne Johnson (86.07 per cent).

Born to a British-Iban couple, Golding had spent some time growing up in the United Kingdom before returning to his Southeast Asian homeland at 21.

Before making a breakthrough in Hollywood thanks to his role in Crazy Rich Asians, he began his entertainment career in 2009 by co-hosting the talk show The 8TV Quickie with actress Belinda Chee.

Following the critically acclaimed Crazy Rich Asians, the father of a girl shared with Taiwanese Yoga instructor Liv Lo, has had a steady stream of roles in films such as A Simple Favour, The Gentleman, Last Christmas and Snake Eyes.
