SHAH ALAM - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) slammed the move by PH-BN government for using government agencies as a tooll to achieve their political goals.

Bersatu Secretary-General Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said the PH-BN government intended to smear Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional's (PN) credibility.

"However, we are confident that the people are aware of PH-BN's strategy to divert attention away from their weakness, failure and nepotism in their government.

"Bersatu has always upheld the principles of integrity and good governance. We asked all leaders and members to remain patient and persevere in facing trials and slander," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Sinar had reported the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) froze several Bersatu accounts.

The matter was confirmed by MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.

Hamzah said Bersatu accepted the MACC's actions were part of their investigation process.

"The party will continue to cooperate in the investigation in order for this slander on Bersatu to be stopped immediately.

"Bersatu leaders and officials who were asked to provide evidence to the MACC have been instructed to cooperate completely," he said.
