Politically Frank: Zahidi willing to join PKR, Amanah after Umno sack

Sinar Daily's Politically Frank segment spoke to him on his future plans after Umno, he said: "I'd like to contribute my service to the public, especially in my state.
"Right now, the people in power is a new party instead of my former, so I have to join them to contribute. That's my intention," the Padang Besar MP explained his move.
Besides that, Sinar Daily also caught a glimpse of his strategy in navigating which component party he is eyeing on.
Zahidi said, "Right now, the one in power is PH, so I don't mind joining either one PKR or Amanah. Whichever accepts me, then that's the party I'll join."
Zahidi was sacked by Umno in November after standing as an independent candidate in the 15th general election (GE15), having been dropped by the party.
He failed to defend his Padang Besar seat, securing only 1,939 votes and losing his deposit, in a five-cornered fight that was won by PN’s Rushdan Rusmi.
Last November, Umno confirmed that the membership of four individuals was dropped after they were found to have run for opponent party in the 15th General Election (GE15).
The other three were Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (Arau); Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Abd Muttalib (Maran) and Datuk Azhar Ahmad for the Kuala Perlis State Assembly seat.
Last Jan 27, former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin member was sacked from Umno for being vocal against the party's leadership and for claiming that there were ghost voters recruited to contribute votes to the no-contest motion for the party's top two positions.
A number of other Umno leaders and prominent figures were also suspended from the party such as Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and former Umno Information chief Shahril Hamdan.
